Lead Tasting Associates

Role and Responsibilities

AxeBridge Wine Co is part of Schram Enterprises and is a full production, urban winery located in the North Loop of Minneapolis, MN. The Tasting Room Lead’s key responsibility is centered on ensuring smooth day to day operations of the tasting room and cultivating a positive work and customer environment. This position will oversee the staff and floor of a daily shift and given the training they need to handle key day to day functions within the tasting room. They will be expected to solve issues as they arise, direct all employees on shift and ensure the daily needs of the business are met. This role will also assist with projects relating to the tasting room including upkeep, event set up/execution and ongoing staff training. The ideal candidate would have a passion for Minnesota wine and a working knowledge of winery operations. Candidates must be professional, articulate, hard-working and strong leaders with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. This position requires an outgoing, organized and disciplined individual who can ensure staff is set up for success while simultaneously focusing on the customer experience.

  • Ensure the tasting room is clean and ready for daily operations and create a welcoming environment for our guests

  • Set the standard for staff in professionalism, cleanliness, service and attitude

  • Manage money for the day from drawer counts to drops, payouts and tip distribution

  • Ensure tasting room staff is following all procedures and protocols throughout the day

  • Provide feedback and coaching to tasting room staff

  • Manage guest flow so that all guests feel welcomed and receive good service

  • Float between job roles throughout the day, giving an extra hand where needed

  • Ensure ongoing cleaning tasks are being worked in down time

  • Work with the Tasting Room General Manager to find ways to continually improve customer experience and employee satisfaction

  • Communicate item needs, maintenance and issues/mistakes with Manager and Owners

  • Ensure responsible service practices and maintain a safe environment for our employees and guests

  • Troubleshoot day-to-day issues that may arise

  • Assist in inventory counts for beer, merchandise, food and other products

  • Innovate and convey ideas for crew engagement and environment improvement to Tasting Room Manager

  • Assist with continuing education of staff, including but not limited to, knowledge of wines, sales, kitchen execution

  • Ensure any private event/tasting set up is complete

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Tasting Room Manager

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • US Work Authorization

  • Must be 21 years of age

  • PT Role: Available to work some weekdays, weeknights, weekends, and holidays

  • FT Role: Open availability to open and close the facility with availability to work weekdays, weeknights, weekends, and holidays as needed

  • Demonstrate excellent customer service

  • Attention to detail and ability to multitask

  • Outgoing and inviting personality

  • Ability to establish direction and delegate

  • Ability to lift 55 pounds, move kegs and be on your feet for long periods of time

  • Positive attitude and ability to work with a diverse group of people

Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge of Minnesota Wines

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Job Types: Part-time, Full-time

Salary: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
